Bio Bogdan Voicu

Bogdan Voicu, prof.dr.habil. (Sociology) is senior researcher I with the Romanian Academy, the Research Institute for Quality of Life. Bogdan Voicu is founding member of the Romanian Quantitative Studies Association, member of the Romanian Group for Studying Social Values, principal investigator for Romanian World Values Survey, part of the Romanian Election Studies’ team. He published 44 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 4 authored books, 5 edited books, one edited journal issue, 39 chapters in books, 49 reports (authored, coordinated or co-authored). The best-known journals where he published are European Sociological Review, Journal for Ethnic and Migration Studies, Current Sociology, Social Indicators Research, etc. Bogdan Voicu’s main research topic is related to value formation and change studied in the context of international migration. His current work shows that immigrants and returnees mix cultural influences, due to socialization and institutionalization processes in transnational interplay.
